The training in master’s degree “Technical safety of work equipment” aims to prepare engineers in the field of ensuring and technical control of safety of work equipment, occupational health and safety management, electrical and fire safety, ecological protection of working environment. The universal wide profile training gives opportunity for greater flexibility and adaptation of the engineers according to market needs.
Specialists who graduated “Technical safety of work equipment” specialty will perform managerial and operational activities in the field of ensuring and controlling the safety of work equipment and safety at work, which are required for the successful participation of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Single European Market.
The masters in “Technical safety of work equipment” will be leaders in the country in terms of knowledge and application of the requirements of technical legislation and conformity assessment in the design, maintenance and operation of safe work equipment; application of engineering methods and means for carrying out technical inspection of high-risk equipment’s and implementation of control for compliance with the applicable legislation; analysis and protection from dangerous and harmful factors of the work environment, creating prerequisites for work accidents and occupational diseases; analysis and risk assessment of the work equipment and occupational safety management; organizing, coordinating, and controlling the activities to ensure occupational health and safety.
Engineers who have completed this master's specialty receive thorough knowledge necessary for their future engineering activities and for ensuring their professional flexibility. In the training process, emphasis is placed on ensuring the technical safety of high-risk equipment’s and their technical inspection, occupational health and safety management, analysis and risk assessment of work equipment, factors of the working environment, considered in the context of the current technical legislation and applicable standards.

The master's specialty "Technical Safety of Work Equipment" is based on the experience and traditions in the training of engineers at Technical University of Sofia. А team of teachers from mechanical engineering, energy and electrical engineering is formed to ensure the completeness and scope of the specialty.
The education is 1 year for graduates with a "Bachelor's" or "Master's" degree from all professional fields in the area of "Technical Sciences", and for professional fields "Physical Sciences", "Chemical Sciences", "Mathematics", "Informatics and Computer Sciences", "National Security" and " Military affair".
Graduates with "Bachelor's" or "Master's" degree outside the above-described fields pass compensatory education.
The preparation of master's in specialty "Technical safety of work equipment" is built on the basis of knowledge and skills obtained in the bachelor's study in the groups of disciplines: fundamental; general engineering; engineering specialized and humanitarians.
