About the course

The "Mechanical Engineering" specialty provides students with complex fundamental and specialized training that meets the requirements of the Law on Higher Education. The admission of students is carried out according to the Admission Rules of TU-Sofia.

Why choose this specialty?

Training in the specialty "Mechanical Engineering" is based on mandatory and optional disciplines. The mandatory ones are: fundamental (mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, engineering graphics); humanitarian (economics, management and marketing) and general engineering (materials science, mechanics, electrical engineering, electronics, automatic regulation and control, machine elements and mechanisms, safety technology and environmental protection).

Elective disciplines form the following areas:

  • AUTOMATION TECHNIQUE AND ENGINEERING
  • ENGINEERING LOGISTICS AND TECHNIQUE
  • NON-METALLIC MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES
  • PRECISION TECHNIQUE
  • CONSTRUCTION AND ECO TECHNIQUES

The distribution of students in the respective fields is carried out on the basis of the wishes expressed by them and the success shown during the first two years of study.

Opportunities for student mobility

During the studies, the possibility of student mobility is provided according to the Erasmus University Charter (EUC), which provides the general framework for the implementation of European cooperation in higher education.

My career

The graduated students are awarded the educational and qualification degree "Bachelor" in the specialty "Mechanical Engineering" and the professional qualification "Mechanical Engineer".

Graduates with a "Bachelor's" degree can, if they wish, continue their education until acquiring the higher educational qualification "Master's" degree.

The professional realization of graduates can be realized in all branches of the economy, science, state and European administration, requiring higher education in the specialty.

The knowledge and skills acquired in the training process enable career development related to the construction, implementation and operation of various devices, machines and complexes.
