Engineering Design - Bachelor

About the course

Engineering design combines rigorous, logical and consistent engineering practice with artistic and creative attitudes. The balance between engineering and artistic training is aimed at obtaining a successfully applicable symbiosis between the two.

"Engineering design" is a specialty of professional direction 5.13. General engineering.

Why choose this specialty?

Students majoring in "Engineering Design" at TU-Sofia receive specialized knowledge of design, acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to design aestheticized products for the home, industrial production, information and advertising products and systems for individual and public consumption. They also develop their creative thinking, acquire knowledge in the field of managing creative teams, marketing and ways to implement their projects, developing teamwork skills in their chosen engineering and design direction.

What are the entry requirements?

For the "Engineering Design" specialty, applications are made with exams in drawing and composition. Every year, the "Engineering Design" department organizes candidate preparation courses for the entrance exams: a year-round course (from December to May) and an accelerated course (in June).

What do you study?

In the course of study, general education, basic art, engineering, design and humanities disciplines are studied, which together form the necessary qualification of future engineer-designers. The directions: industrial, graphic, interior and fashion design are more seriously advocated. Opportunities for student mobility

Specialization "Engineering Design" has cooperation under the EU Erasmus program with universities in Europe and is open to cooperation with new institutions and universities in the world.

For the program period 2014-2027, TU has an Erasmus University Charter (ERASMUS UNIVERSITY CHARTER (EUC)), which provides the general framework for the implementation of European cooperation in higher education.
